I’ve spent a lot of time dialing in my home office. Not to make it flashy—but to make it work. Over time, I’ve stripped away anything that didn’t serve a purpose. I used to have a ton of stuff on my desk—extra gear, gadgets, decorations. Now I’m aiming for simplicity and clarity.
The goal is focus. No clutter. No distractions. Just the essentials, dialed in.
Here’s a look at what I’m using right now—and why it works for me.
The Core Setup
LG 45″ Ultrawide OLED Monitor
I’ve cycled through triple monitors, vertical stacks, and even a 49″ super ultrawide. This one finally hit the right balance. The OLED clarity is unreal, the curve is comfortable, and the 5K2K resolution means everything looks razor sharp—writing, editing, designing, or even gaming.
I’ve got it mounted on an Ergotron HX heavy-duty arm, which lifts it off the desk completely. It keeps things clean, gives me more space, and lets me tilt or reposition the screen when I need to shift posture or switch tasks. It’s one of those upgrades I wish I did sooner.
MacBook Air (M4, 2025)
Lightweight, fast, silent. It just does its job. Whether it’s docked or I’m using it solo, I don’t have to think about performance or noise—just focus on what I’m doing.
iPad Pro 12.9″ (M4)
This gives me flexibility without needing another full monitor. I use it for handwritten notes, quick sketches, and a second screen when needed. The Pencil and Magic Keyboard combo make it feel like a creative tool more than just a tablet.
Staying Connected Without Losing Focus
Insta360 Link 4K Webcam
Set it and forget it. It tracks me if I move, adjusts lighting, and keeps me centered. No tweaking or setup needed.
Sony WH1000XM4 Headphones
Sony keeps getting better with every release, and the newer versions definitely have their perks. But honestly, these still hold up. The noise canceling is solid, the audio is clean, and they’re comfortable enough for all-day use. I haven’t felt the need to upgrade—they still do exactly what I need.
Power, Simplicity, and Zero Desk Chaos
Anker 3-in-1 MagGo Charger
One charger handles my phone, AirPods, and Apple Watch. That’s three fewer cables and one less thing to think about.
Anker 60W USB Charging Station + USB Hub
Under the desk. Out of sight. Everything powered, everything connected.
Anker USB-C to Ethernet Adapter
I don’t always need it, but when I do, it guarantees a stable connection for big uploads or important calls.
Logitech MX Master 3S Mouse
Ergonomic, fast, and mapped to save clicks across the board. It’s small, but it makes a difference every day.
Audio and Content Setup
Rode PodMic + Wave XLR + Blue Compass Arm
Reliable, clean audio with no need for tweaking. The mic arm keeps things tidy and out of the frame. No buzzing, no adjusting—just plug in and go.
Elgato Stream Deck+
I use this to flip between modes: focus, meetings, content creation. It controls audio, apps, and lighting with one touch.
Elgato Key Light
Mounted out of the way and dialed in. I never have to adjust it. I hit one button, and I’m camera-ready.
What I Tried That Didn’t Work
This setup came from trial and error. A few things that didn’t make the cut:
- Triple monitors – too much head turning, not enough actual space gain
- 49″ ultrawide – impressive, but more screen than I needed
- Over-accessorizing – docks, mic arms, ring lights, cables everywhere. Looked productive, felt cluttered
Once I started cutting back and simplifying, things clicked.
Final Thoughts
My setup now is minimal but functional. Every piece earns its place. It helps me shift between tasks without distraction, without digging through wires or troubleshooting gear. There’s nothing flashy here—just a space that supports how I like to work.
Less gear, more focus. That’s the whole point.
